Electrical: Disconnect the existing 10A gas GPO wiring from the island's internal conduit. Use the existing conduit pathway to pull a brand-new, heavy-duty 6mm² single-phase cable from the main switchboard to the island. Switchboard: Supply and install a dedicated 32A RCBO safety switch/breaker in the main switchboard panel (there is physical space available on the rail). Fit-off: Mount a new isolation switch inside the island cabinet, drop the LG induction unit into the cutout, hardwire it, and test. I have a smeg gas stovetop with four burners. 3 of the burners work just fine, however the largest burner will not operate on low. Turn it to simmer and the flame goes out. It does work but needs a service.
