I purchased a new shower head for my apartment that I need help installing. I have assembled the new head but can’t get the old one off.

I’ve been battling this pond since I built it. For some reason it slowly leaks. It’s got pond matt, which I think cemented mostly over, before adding black poxy. Yet; when I run the fountain it slowly leaks down to a certain level. For the life of me I can’t figure out where or why, after several attempts. Would love someone else to try to attempt to fix it. Would include getting the current water out; cleaning it, then trying to find the source of issue, fixing, and refilling to test.
