I’m looking for someone experienced with artificial grass sub-base preparation to repair the base underneath my existing artificial grass. The area is roughly 7 metres by 5 metres and is a single-laid section of artificial grass. The grass was laid during lockdown on a base I created myself. Over time, parts of the base appear to have washed away or dropped, possibly because of the slope of the garden, so the surface is no longer as level or stable as it should be. To keep the job simpler and cheaper, I’m happy to lift and roll back the existing grass myself before the work starts. I’m also happy to refit the grass afterwards if needed. What I need is someone to deal with the base properly. I’m looking for someone who can assess the existing base, advise what needs doing, repair/rebuild the uneven or washed-out areas, compact and level it properly, and make sure drainage is considered so the same problem does not just come back. I’m not looking for a full new artificial grass installation unless that turns out to be absolutely necessary. The main job is the base underneath. I’m happy to provide materials if the right person can advise exactly what is needed. Looking for someone experienced fitting artificial grass to complete a small rear garden area. Approx grass area is around 31m² (roughly 4.2m x 7.3m overall shape). Photos and rough layout attached. A lot of groundwork already completed to keep costs down. Membrane already down in surrounding areas and garden mostly excavated/prepped. I will be adding MOT, compressing down and a sand layer, ready for the grass to be set on top. Small lawn area, split into two halves by pathway - each side approx 1.5m wide and 3m long. Right hand side is shady due to large shrubs. Corten steel lawn edging to borders. Garden is Clay soil and surrounded by hard landscaped gardens, which means the lawn needs to survive in wet conditions. Old, weed and moss-ridden turf needs removing and soil needs to be prepped before laying turf. The photos attached shows difference between turf when it was first laid in summer of 2020 and another showing its decline in 2026.
