Render repair on one side of my property

£1,000

Whyteleafe, Surrey

15th Feb 2026

Hi, I’m looking for a localised render repair on my property in Whyteleafe. I have a few cracks in the exterior cement render, and water is coming in around the window sills when it rains. I do NOT need the whole wall or house re-rendered — just targeted repairs. Could you please provide a quote for: 1. Raking out and repairing cracks in the existing cement render using a flexible exterior filler or polymer-modified repair mortar. 2. Re-sealing around the affected window frames/sills with a high-quality exterior MS-polymer sealant. 3. Spot-painting the repaired areas only to match the existing finish. 4. Confirming what materials you use for crack repair and sealing. 5. Whether the quote includes labour, materials, and any access equipment (it’s a ground floor/first floor property, so scaffolding shouldn’t be needed). For reference, I understand small crack repairs are usually in the £100–£300 range, and patch repairs (1–2m²) £250–£450, with window frame resealing typically £107–£310 per window. I only mention this so we can align on expectations. Could you also confirm: - Your experience with render repairs and water-ingress issues - Public liability insurance - Whether you offer any guarantee on repair work - Estimated time to complete the job I can send photos if needed. Thank you — looking forward to your quote. UPDATE I have added a few pictures the main work is around the 2 round windows and the cracks below, and the downstairs windows, as well as some cracks along the wall.

The external render seems to have a hairline crack. This needs to be filled up. If there's any other cracks those need to be filled up too. I can't see any. I can only see one..but somehow the wall inside a lot of condensation and fungus in the winter. The back of the house also has one or two cracks that need filling up.

Block and render garden wall.

£1,500

Whyteleafe, Surrey

8th Aug 2022

We need a block and render wall built to box in a drainage pipe and replace an existing wall and hand rail. The wall will be approximately 2m high and 5m wide (in 2 sections). As per photos this includes managing this around some existing steps which we will need to make a plan for. Ideally we would also need some carpentry work done to replace the cellar door with a narrower door and frame. - Due date: Flexible

What do render repair services include?

Never skip a render crack repair just to save costs. Even the smallest crack on your house wall can expand over time, leaving you with a more expensive and time-consuming repair. Plus, it might put your house at risk as well.

We have a range of handymen and tradesmen who can help you repair your cracked rendered wall or re-render the whole thing. You won't have to try doing this arduous job yourself or call your neighbour for help. Book our external render repair service and have it all settled in quicker turnaround time. From the pre-render preparation, actual work to after application clean-up, you can entrust everything to them and worry about nothing else. Here's what you can expect:

Surface cleaning

Before proceeding with the actual repair, it is integral to clean and prepare the surface first, especially if the area has been left unattended for a while. Your Tasker removes the dirt, dust, grease, mould, algae or any lingering substances that may interfere with the adhesion or render repair. If intensive cleaning and treatments are required, this process is ideally done at least a day before the scheduled render repair.

Expanding cracks

Using a cutter tool, oscillating tool, or chisel, your Tasker rakes out the damaged, cracked rendered wall to expand its width. The exact size and depth will depend on the render needed. The purpose of this step is to replace all vulnerable spots and open up enough space to enable efficient filling within the cracks.

Filling render crack

There are different kinds of joint sealants in the market: acrylic, butyl, and silicone, among others. When in doubt, tasker can help you pick the most suitable render based on your substrate and priorities. Once the surface preparation is done, the chosen render patching compound is then applied and filled within the expanded crack, repeatedly until the desired thickness is achieved. Your repairer may use a hawk and a trowel tool to level the surface with the existing render.

Drying and repainting

Your Tasker can match the finishing to the rendering style of the existing wall and ensure that no unsightly render patches are left behind. After the recommended drying and curing time, you can also ask them to repaint the area with a similar colour and texture as the surrounding render. You can also book our exterior painter for more professional paintwork, especially if you want to give your external wall a fresh new colour and look.
