I need an experienced, reliable handyman to overhaul my flat's outdoor patio. The patio is roughly 3m x 4m with a small walkway/steps. The framework underneath is fine, but the surface needs a complete cosmetic upgrade. What needs doing: 1 Fix the floor: Replace 1 broken decking board (see photos). You will need to cut out the broken section and securely screw down a new piece of matching timber so the floor is completely flat. 2 Wash: Thoroughly -wash the entire deck, steps, and the side wooden fence to remove all green algae, grime, and old finish. 3 Paint/Stain: Once fully dry, paint the entire deck, the steps, and the left-hand privacy fence with a dark slate grey/charcoal decking paint (like Ronseal or Cuprinol). It needs to look uniform and professional. 4 Clean up details: Unscrew a rusty metal bracket from the white door frame and clean off the orange rust stain underneath. Clean any dirt and grime off the white double doors/frames. Take down the loose wooden trellis at the back and clear it away. 5 Install Privacy Screen: Use heavy-duty black cable ties to neatly attach artificial boxwood/bamboo privacy screening (which I will provide) to the black metal railings.

Looking for someone experienced with original wood flooring / pine floorboards to repair a damaged board in my flat in Balham. One floorboard has split and partially broken along the edge near the joint. I’m looking for either: - a repair/stabilisation of the existing board, or - replacement of the individual board if needed This is an older property with original pine boards, so ideally looking for someone with flooring/carpentry experience rather than general handyman patchwork. Please reply with: - relevant experience/photos - whether you’d repair or replace the board - rough estimate of cost - availability Thanks

Floorboard / Bedroom Flooring Repair Needed
£100
Beddington, Greater London
18th May 2026
I’m looking for a carpenter or flooring specialist to inspect and repair damaged bedroom flooring. It looks like previous tenants may have cut out part of the floorboards or created an access panel. There are visible saw cuts, gaps, drilled holes and a section that appears loose/uneven. I’d like someone to assess whether the floor is safe, check what is underneath before fixing, and carry out a proper repair. The job may involve: * Lifting/checking the damaged section * Making sure there are no pipes or cables underneath * Securing or replacing the cut section * Fitting replacement boards or making the area safe and tidy * Matching the existing flooring as closely as possible This is in a bedroom and I’m looking for a neat, safe repair rather than a temporary filler job. Photos available. Please provide availability and an estimated cost for inspection/repair.

There was a dark brown stain on the flooring I tried to get as much off as I could however, I’ve made a small hole in the vinyl floor. I would need the stain removed and scraped off then I would need the hole filled and fixed. I am happy for a piece of vinyl to be cut from another area that’s not noticeable to fix it but I need it to look as good as new. It’s roughly 1cm.

Engineered Wood Floor Repair & Finishing Needed
£200
West Ham, Greater London, E15
3rd Apr 2026
Looking for a flooring professional or carpenter to finish and repair my engineered wood floor. Several boards are loose and creak when walked on. They need re-fixing properly (nail gun or what’s appropriate). The transition/threshold area also needs completing and trimming so it’s neat and secure. Please only respond if you’ve done engineered floor repairs before.
Nice guy and work was quick, but we didn’t get to a solution (in fairness it was a hard starting point, but it would have been easier if he got there on the first visit). Thanks
Repair Floorboards
£150
Kingsland, Greater London, E8
22nd Feb 2026
I need to do a temporary repair on 2 floorboards in my bathroom. I want to keep the original floorboards but they have a crack. The recommendation from the old owner - who is a builder but lives overseas, says to put a brace understand the floorboards to stablise them. He said should be relatively easy. To remove the 2 floorboards, temporarily move the toilet basin to access, brace then return The floorboards are attached with - Bullet Hole Screws The toilet has 2 screws toilet and would need to be moved, water stopped The job has to be Wednesday as I am travelling before and afterwards. I can be home all day, ideally done during the day in case we need wood from Leyland - they need to be open and they are across the road
Brilliant job. Super communicative. On time, gave me clear options and choices on how to repair and job done super efficiently too. Really happy!
