What do fascias and guttering services include?
Fascias and guttering services include all the tasks and activities necessary to ensure these provide ample protection and waterproofing from the elements. As a vital part of home maintenance, fascias and guttering divert rainwater or snowmelt to keep it from penetrating your roof’s underhang, the edge of your roof tiles, underlying structure and your home’s attic or ceiling.
This service allows you to hire fascia experts in repairing or replacing any part of the roof’s fascias or guttering when needed. The service also includes installing fascias or guttering if your roof has none.
Inspecting the fascias and gutters
Your hired fascias and guttering expert first checks all the fascias and gutters that run along your roof. They can check for any sections that have worn away, are punctured, have water damage or wood rot, or are bent in the case of metal guttering. They can also check for any debris that clogs the downpipes and if the box ends and soffits are damaged and need replacement.
Clearing out debris
Once your hired expert has inspected all these, they proceed to clear out any debris that may be obstructing the guttering. They can also remove any debris clogging your gutter’s downpipes. Your Tasker can remove fallen leaves, twigs, tree branches or bird’s nests. Note your expert is careful to inspect gutters and downpipes as these may become home to rats which can attract bigger, more dangerous pests like snakes.
Should your expert find any pests, they can advise you to hire an exterminator or pest control expert to address the issue before they continue to work on your gutters.
Repairing or replacing fascias
After inspecting the fascias, your hired expert proceeds to do the appropriate fixes. They can perform fascia and soffit replacement as needed. They may partially disassemble connected sections of your roof to get to any fascias, soffits, box ends or other related parts to repair or replace them. They can reinstall any other roofing components to their original position once the new fascias are in place.
Repairing or replacing gutters
Your expert can repair gutters and gutter cladding that have missing supports and remove any broken, bent or punctured sections. They can install gutters if none exist or do the gutter replacement for you. If the connected downpipes are bent or have holes, they can cover the holes to properly divert rainwater to your storm drain or rainwater collection system if you have one. If the damage to your downpipes or gutters are too much for any repairs to correct, they can replace sections or the entire downpipe system.
