When switched back ON, the bedroom light bulb immediately popped, so there may be a short circuit on that circuit. Power is normal in the rest of the house. Tasks needed: • Inspect existing cables in loft and identify which are live/needed vs old/dead (TV/phone/satellite etc) • Safely remove/cut and cap off any dead/unused cables (only if safe) • Secure and tidy cables (clip to joists / move above insulation level where possible) • Check for any high-load cables (shower/immersion/cooker) and advise safest placement • Check any junction boxes and ensure they remain accessible • General safety advice before laying insulation (270mm) Property location: Horley, Surrey (RH6).
