Our energy bills have skyrocketed recently. I wanted to test if it was the water boiler, so experimented with switching it off and adjusting the mechanical clock. Cannot figure out now how to get hot water back on. I need some assistance in figuring this out.

We need various smaller plumbing tasks to be done in our home: 1. Boiler safety check (with certificate) and service 2. Connecting the fireplace to the gas (there is an old connection, but it hasn't been used in a long time) 3. Changing taps and plugs in our main bathroom and guest bathroom: -change 2 sink taps -change 2 sink plugs - change 1 bathtub filler tap - tighten wobbly kitchen tap 4. I have a Nest Pro thermostat that was recently installed. I believe it may have been accidentally knocked, after which the heating came on unexpectedly. Since I turned the heating off, our hot water has become intermittent. This is the most important issue to resolve. Additionally, the thermostat currently requires constant USB power and cannot be mounted to the wall, which indicates a potential wiring problem. The task involves: Diagnose and fix the intermittent hot water issue. Properly wire the Nest thermostat to receive a constant power source from the heating system (e.g., install a C-wire or Nest Power Connector). Ensure the Nest thermostat and boiler are communicating correctly.

Boiler pulses on and off when running tap. Pressure fine. Water starts hot and then drops to tepid, never cold.

I have three cupboards that need to be hung on a wall - I have all the bits to do this. It's a brick wall and Ikea cupboards which hang from a rail. You'll need to cut the rail to length. The large cupboard will be mounted over / around a boiler, so the backing will need to be modified and the shelves cut to fit around the boiler and the pipework. The two smaller shelves don't need any adjustment with the backs, but will need to be fixed to the large cupboard for stability. I have some precut oak to place over the top of the cupboard and to create a shelf on the (currently open) top of the small cupboard. I'd like this scheduled for next week - Happy to do this on Monday if you're happy to work on a bank holiday?

Looking for a qualified Gas Safe engineer (or someone with experience in boiler flue systems) to help with what I’ve been told is a a quick and simple fix to make an existing horizontal flue compliant. (The flue has been in this position for over 20 years but the recent gas safety test suggested further clearance required and suggested plume kit as an efficient way to get it done) The flue is already installed and working fine (new boiler and flue installed less than 2 years ago), but it’s located close to a flat roof and soffit, so I need a plume management kit or similar low-cost solution fitted to redirect the fumes safely away. Access is easy from the flat roof – no scaffolding required.

There are three taps in operation via the kitchen, shower and bathroom. Each tap either runs extreme hot or completely cold. When the tap is set lower than full heat, the pressure presumably drops and is causing the boiler to disengage and the flame that indicates the heating function switches off. I have recently had the diaphragm and pressure differential replaced and fixed... so have isolated this now to a pressure issue. The same issue occurs across all three taps when the temperature is slightly adjusted down from full heat.

Cover boiler in single bedroom. Also case in pipes without having a floor to ceiling wardrobe. I’m open to smart storage. That will cover the boiler and allow storage space also.

My boiler was low on water but it wouldn't let me feed water into it to top it up. After turning the boiler off for a few days the water level seemed to be fine again. Then the water level started rising so had to drain some out. The pressure in it keeps changing. Looking for someone to come and diagnose the issue.
