Top Computer Support related questions

Taskers have varying approaches to the cost of software and equipment. If your task needs a subscription to a paid feature, you can have several options. Your Tasker can charge you on top of the fee, including the total charges, or have them use your subscription. To avoid any inconveniences, make sure to clarify the inclusions before accepting an offer.

Yes, Taskers do not only offer computer support for residential clients. Many of them are also able to work on commercial projects. This way, you can work with the same Tasker for the project duration without going through a full traditional hiring process. All their offers, credentials, and even reviews of former clients are available through Airtasker.

Yes! Taskers can provide both on-site and remote computer support. Keep in mind that on-site services may incur costs to cover the transportation. However, some technical tasks are easier by having a Tasker see the actual wiring or device setup. Include in the task what type of service is needed as well. You might even find a specialist right in your neighborhood!

Not all Taskers offering computer support have the same specialty. Some are coding geniuses, while others are handier with hardware. Some Taskers specialize in some brands. To manage this, mention the device's brand name and the make and model when posting a task. You can also ask Taskers about their experience with an OS or software for your peace of mind.

When you put up a task on Airtasker, you can receive offers within the first 24 to 48 hours. It's also possible to get one right away. If you're in a rush and you have all the details for the task, you can opt to accept within the first hour. However, waiting for more offers may save you some money since you can compare the inclusions and ratings to each other.

You can use Airtasker Pay, our secure and easy-to-use payment feature. Your card will be charged once you accept an offer. However, we will keep the fee on hold to protect both parties until the task has been marked completed. We'll handle remitting your Tasker to avoid any hassle for you both.

What do computer support services include?

Computer support has evolved from the highly technical tasks of wiring or coding. Nowadays, you can have a tech specialist helping you without the hefty fees or long waiting times. Plus, with technology being the norm, there are so many things that you can have done by a customer specialist – whether it be for your chores or business.

This service isn't just for the technology-challenged, too. Even those who fully grasp software programs and computer parts may need an extra hand now and then.

If you're curious what a computer support technician can help you with, we've listed down a few!

Home office configuration

If you still haven't set up your home office or plan to upgrade, we can connect you with computer network support specialists to help you seamlessly integrate each device into the ecosystem.

You'll be surprised at how many things can get done faster if you wirelessly connect your printer to all laptops and desktops at home or when the Wi-Fi connection extends to all corners of the house. You can even produce a whole live stream video with almost the same quality as a professional audiovisual tech studio with the right home office setup.

E-commerce setup and management

With all of the advances in online shopping and last-mile delivery, opening a digital shop has become more and more enticing to entrepreneurs. There's more opportunity for you to reach your ideal market, even if they live miles away from you.

If your current challenge is setting up your e-commerce store, then you've come to the right place. Taskers can help you get your store up and running, ready to accept orders. If you're a service-based business or just starting out, you can also hire a Wix developer to minimize the costs of a fully coded website.

For product-based shops, you may want to get assistance from product testers, too. You'll get solid feedback without the risk of damaging your brand. They can help you improve your product's formulation, design, and overall quality.

Software troubleshooting

Are you having a hard time with your computer software? Let computer support specialists assist you in checking what's wrong and explaining how to fix it remotely. Taskers aim to be courteous and helpful when working with you. Computers keep evolving, so there's always something new to learn. Even computer science students need tutors, and developers need to attend training. There's no need at all to feel ashamed if a software or iOS prompt confuses you.

If you're ready to get help for your computer conundrum, simply put up a task in our easy-to-use platform to find a specialist near you.

PC Troubleshooting Help Needed – Custom SFF Gaming Build Won’t Post

£75

Shacklewell, Greater London

16th Jul 2025

I have a custom small form factor gaming PC that’s no longer posting to BIOS, and I’m unable to pinpoint which component is failing. All parts (CPU, GPU, motherboard, RAM, SSD) were purchased new within the last month, except for the DC-ATX power supply, which I’ve just replaced — but the issue persists. Symptoms: • System powers on (fans, lights), but no display output • Multiple known-working GPUs tested with no success • No debug LEDs or beep codes • Have already tried RAM reseating, CMOS reset, different GPU, new PSU, etc. Looking for someone experienced with custom PC builds (especially SFF/ITX systems and HDPlex-style PSUs) to help diagnose the issue — ideally in person

Arranged pickup and drop off of my system and identified the issue so I can start the RMA process. Thoroughly understood my concerns and worked with me to find a quick solution. Would trust with my hardware again!
