Curtain Runner – Reinstallation & Ceiling Repair I’m looking for an experienced handyman to fix a curtain runner that has pulled away from the ceiling. The previous installation was attached to hollow plasterboard rather than solid concrete, and the fixings failed under the weight of the curtains. The runner now needs to be securely reinstalled. The job * Remove the existing runner and failed fixings. * Assess the ceiling and fixing points to determine the safest installation method. * Reinstall the runner securely, level and flush against the ceiling. * Use suitable heavy-duty plasterboard/cavity fixings, such as metal cavity fixings or toggle anchors, or another professional solution. * Use appropriate screws/fasteners. * If suitable, use construction adhesive or adhesive sealant as additional support alongside mechanical fixings, not instead of them. * Re-align the two runner sections so the curtains glide smoothly. * Ensure there is no movement when opening or closing the curtains. * Minimise further ceiling damage and reuse existing fixing points only if structurally suitable. * Tidy minor marks or holes where possible. Tools & materials Please bring all necessary tools and materials, including: * Suitable ladder – essential because the runner is ceiling-mounted. * Drill and appropriate bits. * Heavy-duty plasterboard/cavity fixings. * Suitable screws/fasteners. * Construction adhesive/adhesive sealant if appropriate. * Tools to safely remove and reinstall the runner. I’m happy to reimburse reasonable material costs if agreed in advance. Important This is a rectification of a failed installation, so please apply only if you are experienced with hollow plasterboard ceilings and suitable load-bearing fixings. The finished installation must be secure, professional and safe for the weight of the curtains. Photos of the existing installation and failed fixings below

A flat belt drive for my treadmill needs replacing as the current one is damaged. This causes the treadmill to stall badly when someone goes on it. Hi, I need a specialist tradesperson to fix water damage on an indoor wooden subfloor and seal a leaking balcony door threshold.This is a hidden defect from the previous owner. The area was recently covered with new laminate flooring during a dry summer peak, so the ongoing balcony leak wasn't discovered until now. Rainwater is bypassing the external balcony membrane and tracking directly underneath the sliding door threshold into the room. This has caused localised wood rot and damp on the subfloor boards directly under the door frame (covering an area of about 1 meter ).I am completely happy for the new laminate planks in this corner to be removed and disposed of, as I have a brand-new spare pack of the exact same laminate flooring ready to go.The job will involve:Removing the new laminate planks in the affected corner.Cutting out the rotted/damaged section of the wooden subfloor right up to the underside of the balcony door track.Correctly sealing and waterproofing the external-to-internal threshold junction underneath the door frame to stop the water ingress permanently.Treating the remaining joists/timbers with a professional anti-mould/fungicidal wash.Installing a new plywood/timber patch to repair the subfloor and make it level.Re-laying the laminate in this corner using my spare pack and re-fitting the newly installed skirting board.Please quote for labor and subfloor materials. Experience with balcony threshold waterproofing and laminate floor fitting is highly preferred. Thank you!
