Removing the old thermostat
When removing the old thermostat, make sure to turn off your HVAC units, either from the electrical breaker box or by switching off the system. The purpose is to limit potential hazards while accessing the wires and circuits.Â

Fitting the new thermostat

Configuration and final testing

The shower is a concealed Pura thermostatic shower (photos attached). The main issue is faulty temperature control: the water only gets hot when turned fully to maximum, a very small adjustment makes it go from very hot to cold, and it takes a long time for hot water to come through. The rest of the temperature range does very little. Based on research, this appears most likely to be a failed or scaled thermostatic cartridge, or a temperature stop/calibration issue. The shower otherwise works and there are no leaks. If, once inspected, the cartridge is not the cause, I’m happy for you to advise on the next appropriate step without replacing the full concealed valve or removing tiles unless absolutely necessary.
