I am experiencing intermittent electrical faults with my cooker, oven. Symptoms observed: • When the cooker hob or extractor is in use and the oven wall switch is turned on, the circuit breaker trips (requiring reset at the fuse board). • After one trip and reset, the oven remained powered on even though the wall switch was in the off position. • The circuit has also tripped when simply turning down a cooker hob control from a higher to lower setting. • These random but related faults occur only with the cooker/oven/extractor appliances. Fishy smell from oven. Someone from Domex has come round to look at the oven. He said the oven works completely fine. He said he did note the fishy smell and said it could point to an issue with the main electrics but not the oven itself. He recommended for an electrician to come round and take a look at the electrics properly to make sure there isn’t a potentially dangerous fault.
