Hi, Task 1 - Decking I need a handy man who can help us with our existing deck. Our deck is atleast 8 years old and it needs to be redone. I’ve noticed that a small timber member in my roof truss has come loose or dislodged in the ceiling space. A piece of timber (likely part of the truss webbing) has detached and fallen down onto the ceiling insulation. It appears that one of the metal nail plates or connections has failed or come apart. I have also been hearing occasional cracking or popping sounds from the ceiling, which may be related to this issue (or possibly temperature-related movement), but I would like it properly checked. I’m looking for someone experienced (carpenter / builder / structural tradesperson) to: • Inspect the roof truss condition • Assess whether the structure is safe • Re-fix or reinforce the loose/disconnected timber member • Check surrounding connections for any similar issues I can provide photos and a video for better understanding. Access is via the roof cavity.
