We are looking for an experienced flooring contractor/handyman to remove and replace several damaged timber-look floorboards near an internal doorway. The affected boards have separated/lifted around the doorway and wall edge and need to be replaced so the flooring sits flat and the joints are properly aligned. Scope of works: * Inspect the damaged flooring and confirm the cause of the lifting/separation before replacement. * Remove the affected floorboards carefully without unnecessarily damaging surrounding boards. * Supply and install suitable replacement boards that closely match the existing colour, grain, width and finish. * Cut boards neatly around the door jamb/wall. * Ensure appropriate expansion clearance is maintained around the perimeter. * Refit/finish edges and doorway transition as required. * Dispose of removed flooring and leave the area clean and tidy. Approximate measurements from the attached photos: * Floorboards are approximately 220 mm wide. * One affected section extends approximately 600–620 mm from the doorway/junction. * The longer affected run is approximately 2.2 metres. * Please refer to the attached measurement photos for exact site dimensions. There is noticeable movement/separation particularly at the corner of the door jamb, so we would also like the contractor to advise if there is an underlying issue such as insufficient expansion allowance, damaged locking joints, subfloor movement or moisture before simply installing new boards. Important: Please include in your offer whether materials are included, and whether you can source a close matching floorboard. If an exact match cannot be obtained, please advise what solution you recommend. Photos and measurements are attached for reference.

Timber Floor Sanding, Gap Filling & Minor Repairs Looking for an experienced timber floor sanding professional to complete the final stage of preparation on existing Baltic Pine floorboards. The floor has already been sanded and is approximately 90% complete. This is mainly a finishing and detail-sanding job rather than a full floor restoration. Scope of works: Fill selected larger gaps between floorboards (not all gaps, only the more noticeable ones). Repair/fill a small chipped or damaged section of flooring. Fill and tidy a few larger gaps around doorways, wall edges and transitions where appropriate. Sand under skirting boards, around architraves and in other areas that the main floor sander cannot reach. Remove remaining paint residue and old finish from perimeter areas. Detail sand edges and corners to match the rest of the floor. Complete a final 120-grit sanding pass to leave the floor smooth and ready for sealing. Floor details: Existing Baltic Pine floorboards. We are having our house restumped and need to get the Baltic Pine floorboards pulled up. We plan on having the boards relaid so they need to be pulled up carefully. Total floor area is around 70 sqm, the photos show the 23 sqm of polished boards, the rest of the floor is carpeted. As only a number of boards around the joists need to be pulled up not all will need to be removed (this will be confirmed with the stumper).

To repair two sections of raised/loose floor boards. Scope of Work: Prep: Remove or adjust the existing edge trim around the affected areas where required. Realign: Press down and realign the raised flooring edges as flat as possible. Glue Injection: Drill discreet holes and inject adhesive under loose sections. Secure: Apply temporary weights or pressure while the adhesive cures. Touch-up: Fill, patch, and finish the injection holes as neatly as possible.

Looking for someone experienced with decking repairs to fix a small section of composite decking that has warped/lifted. As shown in the photo, a few boards have bowed upwards and there is a noticeable gap between boards. I suspect the boards may need to be lifted and re-secured, likely tree caused by tree root.

Hi there, I am moving out of my apartment in St Kilda and need a small chip repaired on a floorboard so it passes my final rental inspection. The Problem: It’s a single deep gouge about the size of a fingernail (see attached photos). The dark core of the plank is exposed. The Goal: Fill and color-match the chip so it blends in seamlessly with the surrounding wood grain and matte finish. What you need to bring: You will need to supply your own color-matched repair materials (hard wax kit, laminate repair filler, or professional epoxy) to match the light oak/tan tone of the floorboards.
