We are having our gas hot water heater replaced with electric, but before that is done, we need to repair the wall behind the current gas unit while there is an opportunity. The problem is that the current gas unit is against the wall which doesn't allow access. I’m looking to book a plumber to inspect our hot water system. We have a Chromagen Midea hybrid heat pump hot water system and it has started regularly discharging water from the pressure & temperature relief (PTR) valve outlet pipe. This began shortly after Western Water shut off and restored mains supply in town due to burst water mains, so I’m concerned there may be an issue with water pressure, the PTR valve, or pressure/expansion control valves.
