Max is a find! He tackled two tricky issues and did not stop until the job was done, and done right. Nice guy, and very easy to work with. We now also have some fond memories we can draw on for chuckles (I'm looking at you, Bunnings stain). Nice guy, easy to work with. We really appreciate you taking on this task, and your work ethic. Thanks for making the fun usable again, providing much future fun for the children (and adults!) who will use it.

What do carpenters do?

Whether you’re planning a major renovation on your home or you simply want to make things look a bit nicer, hiring a carpenter or chippy can help you with many different tasks.

Carpentry work is generally broken down into two types: rough and finish. Rough carpentry refers to work that doesn’t have an intricate look, as it’s covered up – often by bricks, tiles or plaster work. Finish carpentry covers the work that will be on display, so needs to have a nicer finish. Furniture, decking and window frames all fall into this second category.

Decking

Many Australian homes are blessed with a large backyard and plenty of sunny hours to enjoy that space. A decking specialist can add an outdoor deck or upgrade an existing one that opens up your outdoor space. This is great if you want to entertain guests or eat outside as a family during the sunny months.

Cabinet making

Cabinet makers are one example of finish carpentry, because of the high level of detail that goes into their end products. Unlike structural work, it’s important that a cabinet looks nice, so this type of carpenter is a lot more focussed on fine details. Cabinet makers often specialise in other forms of furniture making too.

Refinishing carpentry

While structural carpentry is concerned with jobs on the large end of the scale, trim or refinishing carpentry looks at the small end. A trim carpenter is the way to go if you want someone to fix up your skirting boards, cornicing or a similar aspect of your home.

Custom made furniture

A house isn’t a home without a few personal touches, and if you’d rather avoid the cookie-cutter Ikea approach to decorating your property, hiring a carpenter to create custom made furniture can make you stand out. Whether you want chairs, tables or a shoe rack, there’s someone nearby who can help.

Cabinet installation

$1,000

Aspley QLD 4034, Australia

11th Mar 2023

Currently we are doing some renovation at our house at the moment. As a result of this renovation we ad to uninstall some of the cabinets and sections of cabinets to allow a space for our fridge and also open a space for an island bench. I have included some photos of before and after our kitchen to give you an idea of what it looks like and what needs to be done. All required cabinets have been removed carefully and professionally without any damage. The work now includes below specific tasks: 1- installing the two door cabinets which sits above the fridge. 2- as we are using a section of our removed cabinets as the island cabinets we have a full length set of cabinets which require to be installed on the floor where the stone bench top will be sitting on. 3- the cabinet under above for the kitchen island require some alteration such as adding a side panel and re structuring its door through some new rails to make it workable for the island bench cabinets. Therefore, to get the task 2 done this alteration needs t be done first. 4- installing the oven gable and two small drawers upper and lower the oven. The gable and all cabinets of the oven and microwave have already been uninstalled and taken out. For these tasks there are plenty of original panels and cabinets. Please see the photos of prior to removal of cabinets and after. Feel free to ask if you have any questions - Due date: Before Sunday, 19 March 2023
