Hi, One side of my existing verandah’s roof is fixed to the roof, so I would like to add additional 4 timber (appx 2.4m) posts on that side to take the load away from the roof.

We are looking for an experienced carpenter or handyman to repair and restore the front verandah at a property we manage in Ascot Vale. The verandah has significant issues that need addressing, including a top rail that has completely detached from one of the posts and several areas showing serious wood rot and water damage. As shown in the attached photos, the timber in some sections is badly deteriorated. The job will involve a full assessment of the damage, recommending and carrying out necessary repairs or timber replacements, securely reattaching or replacing the detached rail, and treating all affected areas to prevent future water damage. We will also need the repaired sections prepped and painted to match the existing finish for a neat and cohesive look. Preferably prior experience with verandah or timber restoration. Timing is flexible, but ideally we would like the work completed within the next one to two weeks. Please provide a rough quote & let us know if you would like to inspect the site.
