I have 3 metal door frames that I really need repaired. From my understanding, replacing the whole door frames is not the best option as it is messy, costly and the door frames are bolted or attached to the brick. The 3 door frames are rusted due to salt damp. I have had the salt damp treated by Tech Dry in November 2023. I’m looking to get the door frames repaired in whatever you think is the best way possible. I’m not sure if cutting a section out and replacing it with wood is an option with the hope the moisture/salt damp doesn’t come back and destroy the wood over a short period of time or I have seen a metal “jamb patch” or a “strike side jamb patch” found on the internet which looks to be a metal section (the shape of the door frame) that can be slotted in to replace the cut out rusted section. But ordering and getting these… let alone installation …have no idea. These doors have been this shape for a while and I need this repair done. Thank you.
