My fridge freezer sits on a plinth. I need to lower it to allow for my microwave to sit on top. This would entail removing a small amount of plinth and dropping the shelf to the floor.

My fridge is not working, the light comes on but it's not cooling but the freezer is still functioning. The panel on the front hasn't worked for months.

I am currently waiting for an electrician to confirm if power can be installed at the back of the shelves before proceeding with this job. I am unsure whether the existing shelving unit can be reused, or if new shelving should be built. The current space consists of 2 shelving units. The lower shelving unit is approx. 1465mm high and 945mm wide, and sits about 150mm above the floor, with a skirting board below. Above this is another shelf unit that is to remain. It has 2 open shelves and is level with the above counter cupboards on the right The changes needed are: - The skirting board has to be removed where the freezer will sit - The sides and back of the opening should go all the way to the floor. - The floor under the freezer should be floor boards – I don't know whether this is currently the case or if it is just concrete - There will be approx 300m width additional space to the side of the freezer where I would want open shelving - see diagram
