What do blind repair experts do?

Depending on the type of repairs you need, blinds specialists may come to your home and fix the blinds where they're hanging or they might need to remove them and return them after servicing. Blinds repair shops offer a full range of services including cord repair and re-strings as well as replacing broken slats. Many also offer blind cleaning as an additional service.

Venetian blind repair

Venetian blinds repair is the most common type of blind repair. Venetian blinds have horizontal louvres made of aluminium, vinyl or wood connected by ladders that can come loose or bend if the blind is pulled too sharply. Mechanisms such as lift cords and wands that raise and tilt the blind can also get damaged or stop working properly over time.

Roller blind repair

Roller blinds use a single piece of fabric, vinyl or other material that offers a higher level of blackout and privacy compared to other blinds. Roller blinds repairs can involve fixing frayed or torn blind material, reattaching the blind to the mechanism or repairing or replacing a cord, chain, clutch or tensioner.

Roman blind repair

Roman blinds are fabric shades that fold together when the blind is lifted and flatten out when lowered. Roman blinds repair often involves replacing worn-out pull cords and rings. If the blind hangs unevenly, it may need a restring. Your repair person may also clean and iron your roman blinds to help them fold more neatly.

Outdoor blind repair

Outdoor blinds are exposed to the elements and are designed to be hard-wearing, but they can still get damaged over time by adverse weather or overuse. Local repair shops offering outdoor blinds repair often fix other types of outdoor shades too, including awnings, truck tarps and shade sails.

Fix fallen blind (needs simple bracket/solution installed)

$50

South Melbourne VIC 3205, Australia

24th Apr 2026

My blind has fallen down. It’s a long wooden rod but there’s currently nothing satisfactory on either end to hold it in place. I’m looking for someone to: * Assess what’s needed (likely small brackets/hooks or similar) * Supply or recommend the right fix * Install it so the blind sits securely again It’s not a complicated job, just a bit fiddly and needs someone who can come with a practical solution. Flexible with timing. Please bring tools and any basic hardware that might be needed.

Install Coolaroo Outdoor Blind on Apartment Balcony

$150

Brunswick VIC 3056, Australia

15th Mar 2026

I need a Coolaroo outdoor blind from Bunnings installed on my apartment balcony. It’s a recessed, semi-enclosed balcony and the blind will be mounted inside the balcony opening. This is the blind (but in the darker colour) https://www.bunnings.com.au/coolaroo-2-4-x-2-4m-graphite-crank-operated-outdoor-blind_p0334441. It will leave a gap either side of the opening, hoping to get these as equal as possible. You will need a step ladder, appropriate drills bits for masonry/metal. I have attempted to install myself and failed! All but one part is missing (a plastic wall anchor). Happy to send more photos if required.

Dimitrios was prompt, friendly, professional and did a task I'd been putting off for months in no time at all! Couldn't recommend him enough.

Put blind back on railing, ladder required

$50

Prahran VIC, Australia

23rd Feb 2026

I have a blockout blind that has fallen off it's holder. It's a really easy job, just requiring someone with a ladder to drop in and put it back up. I've done this before myself, but I'm not in the country right now. Can someone local drop in and fix it? Should take all of 5 minutes. Josh

Fast and great communication. He helped me out instantly and took care of the curtain within minutes. I was out of town and he was trustworthy to access my apartment and sort it out. A+ Recommended.

Repair / replace broken chain on roller blind

$100

Prahran VIC, Australia

21st Feb 2026

Metal beaded chain on my roller blind has snapped and the blind won’t roll up/down properly on two sets of blinds. Looking for someone to: • Replace the chain and/or clutch mechanism • Ensure blind rolls smoothly and is reinstalled correctly Blind is mounted high (loft ceiling) so a tall ladder will be required.

Elson was exceptional with his service, would definitely hire again.

Blind installed

$100

St Kilda, Victoria

6th Feb 2026

Looking for a Handy Person This Weekend I need a very small blind installed on a kitchen window (approx. 1.20 m wide/1.5m height) inside the frame or (1.35m) outside frame and 3–4 safety anchors fitted for blind cords in the same property. You will need to get product from spotlight or bunnings - we will reimburse purchase as well. Should be under $50 according to my research. Beige, oak preferred, but do not mind. Would love for the work to be done this weekend. Please get in touch if you can help. Thank you!

Quick, efficient, perfect.

Blind hung in kitchen

$50

St Kilda VIC, Australia

2nd Feb 2026

I purchased the blind below and need it to be hung in the kitchen window. It is too large to sit flush inside the window frame so will need to be drilled in to the wooden window frame https://www.spotlightstores.com/blinds/roller-blinds/double-roller-blinds/selections-dual-roller-blind/80425615?utm_source=spotlight-system&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ord-conf&utm_term=prod&utm_content=body

Nathan was extremely responsive and efficient. He did an excellent job and had an additional eye to detail of installing blind pulls at differing lengths to help me distinguish them. Would highly recommend.

Roller blind repair required (not gripping)

$70

Southbank VIC, Australia

23rd Jan 2026

One of our blinds doesn’t grip well as you roll it down. When you roll it down past the half way mark it begins to tumble down to the ground. So for example you can’t have it rolled 3/4 of the way down as it’ll just tumble all the way down. Hoping there’s someone that knows how to repair this rather than go for a replacement? I have attached pictures but I also have a video I can send that demonstrates this

Friendly and did a good job!
