My gas stovetop (Smeg 4 burner) keeps igniting /sparking even though I’m not pressing down the knob. Flames lights if gas is let through. I have switched off of the electrical plug to stop the clicking for now. I was using 2 burners, then tried to turn on a 3rd when the continuous clicking happened.

I need a licensed gas fitter to install a new 60cm 4 burner gas cooktop (Esatto ECG604WS, natural gas, cutout 560 x 490mm, bought from Bunnings). It replaces an existing Electrolux 60cm induction cooktop. - Existing gas supply is capped off in the cabinet under the sink (from a previous gas cooktop). Photo attached. - Remove the induction cooktop and fit the gas cooktop into the existing benchtop cutout. - Connect gas, leak test and commission all burners. - The induction cooktop is hardwired, so it needs to be safely disconnected, and the gas cooktop's electronic ignition needs a 240V power point under the bench. Please confirm if you can do the electrical part or if an electrician is needed. - Provide a Victorian Certificate of Compliance on completion. The cooktop will be on site. Photos attached.

My Smeg gas cooktop has developed an ignition fault. The igniters keep clicking continuously, even when the burners are switched off. The clicking stops when the electrical power is disconnected but resumes when switched back on. Looking for an experienced, qualified appliance technician familiar with Smeg gas cooktops to diagnose and repair the fault, including possible ignition switches or spark generator issues.

Disconnect gas cooktop and permanently cap the gas line. Electric stove will be installed in its place.

Name- Highland cooktop 85 x 40 cm..HT3SSN/L!! No electronic ignition ,middle burner flames out upon release of the knob. Replacement Parts or similar maybe required. Person must be knowledgeable regarding the cooktop.

Re : The Gas stove ( Kleenmaid) The ignition doesn’t make a sparking noise. However, the gas works perfectly fine on all four burners.

My gas cooktop still supplies gas, but the electronic igniter isn’t clicking/sparking. I don’t know the brand. What is your call-out/diagnostic fee, and is it deducted from the repair cost?

I have a 5-burner Smeg gas cooktop (middle burner is oval-shaped) with a continuous sparking problem. The issue started after cleaning about 2 years ago. Since then, when the power is turned on, all burners keep sparking continuously without stopping. To manage this, I’ve been turning off the power at the switch and using a lighter to ignite the burners. Gas is working fine and all burners function normally when lit manually. The issue seems to be related to the ignition system, likely a faulty ignition switch or spark module.

*Remove an existing Smeg gas cooktop and install a new Smeg PX364LAU.

I would like to replace cooktop as it’s quite old.

Need kitchen sink, gas cooktop and tap disconnected for kitchen demolition and complete removal. Need them all completely removed to within wall cavity. Please note that gas has been fully disconnected from the property, so there is actually no gas running to the cooktop. It just needs to be removed to any point within the wall.

About to purchase a gas stove top and need a qualified gas plumber to install it.
