Job Details I recently replaced a gas hob with a Bosch Series 4 PIE631BB5E induction hob. An electrician installed a new 6mm cable and connected to the existing 32 A breaker that was already installed and correctly distributed before. The circuit was already in place as expected, and no other alterations were made. The worktop cut-out is ready, but the hob is not yet connected or mounted. I now require a qualified and Part P-registered electrician (NICEIC, NAPIT, ELECSA, or equivalent) to: Inspection & Verification Check that the connection from the consumer unit is safe and suitable for the hob. Confirm correct cable type, sizing, earthing, and protection (MCB/RCBO, RCD compliance). Verify the 3-core cable is suitable for this hob model and that no 5-wire connection is required. Check that the hob’s internal live terminals are correctly bridged for single-phase installation as per manufacturer instructions. Installation Position and secure the hob in the existing cut-out. Connect the hob safely to the supply. Testing & Certification Perform full safety tests: continuity, polarity, insulation resistance, and earth loop impedance. Issue a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (or Part P Building Regulations Compliance Certificate if applicable). Requirements Must be registered with a recognised Competent Person Scheme (NICEIC/NAPIT/ELECSA, etc.). Must be able to issue the relevant electrical certification on completion.
