I need help getting a new American style fridge freezer (Bosch KFN96APEAG, from John Lewis) into my second floor flat at Bingley Court, Canterbury. The delivery team told me it would be very difficult to take up the communal stairs because of its size and weight, and that it would likely cause damage. It would fit easily through the double doors of my terrace, which is right next to the kitchen, so lifting it up to the terrace (rope and pulley or hoist) may be the best option. I’m also open to your advice if you think the stairs could be done safely. Fridge size: H183 x W90.5 x D73.1cm (boxed about H190 x W100 x D78cm). It’s heavy and needs to be kept upright. Access: a vehicle can’t park under the terrace. The nearest parking is about a 30 second to 1 minute walk away, along a path and over grass, so it would need wheeling on an appliance trolley first.
