We have an old side board which we need to move into a new flat which has narrow access. Ideally we’d like to remove 15cm from each end to keep it symmetrical and make as good as possible. I can share photos of the piece and discuss options. Our other thought was to split it at the end of the drawer section to creat two pieces of furniture which could be placed together.
