Hi I have a wooden horizontal Venetian style Blinds and the string has frayed which means it can no longer be drawn in. Can anyone fix this?

It's a wooden venetian blind in the lounge. The mechanism on the blind doesn't seem to be working anymore. The blinds a bit heavy so it was always a bit of a tug to get it to release to drop, but now it seems to be stuck somehow. Would love to get it looked it and released. (NB. photo is just of the blinds when they were down, not now!) Location is High Street in the Northern Quarter. Cheers! Jamie.

Blinds have stopped working properly. No longer move from left to right. The blinds stop half way through.

We have large perfect fit roller blinds fitted in our bedroom, the blinds kept shooting up and wouldn't stay down so we took them down to try and adjust the tension and now the blind is fully down. They do not have a cord, they usually operate on window tracks and you tilt the bottom of the blind to get it to stay in place. To adjust tension we removed the red clip and turned an alan key in the hexagonal screw, however this screw appears to have come away from the cog it should be touching, either that or the spring has broken.
