We just moved into our new home in Thatcham. What we want quoted is: - knock the walls between our kitchen and dining room, and dining room and living room out, so it’s all open plan. We may look to only go with opening up the kitchen and dining room if it’s too costly or time consuming. This would also include seeing if we can put bi-folding doors and an updated window to the garden, and installing a new kitchen. - knock out the downstairs w/c by the front door and move it to under the stairs, so under the stairs will need knocking out. - that covers the whole downstairs, so we would then need to look at replacing the floor across the whole space as well.

I have a small living room, hallway and kitchen area that needs a couple coats of paint. The area is fairly small and I already painted 1 round about 250-300 sqft. total. I have already put taped everything and prepped some of it for painting so really it’s just the painting and a little prep. I have attached pictures of the space as it is right now. We have a small room in our house we’ve been trying to redecorate, we have stripped the walls and started sanding but only have a small hand sander and didn’t realise how much time it would take! We have recently exposed 2 beams in 2 bedrooms having previously been boxed in by previous owner. They need a sand, clean and varnish but also - there are supporting blocks between 2 horizontal beams in the photo. These support the higher beam, and this in turn which holds the ceiling beams above the plaster. These blocks aren’t attractive. We are interested in what could be done to either make the blocks attractive or amend them, ensuring the ceiling is supported support.
