The initial task (£20) is a simple paid trial: - Help with initial laptop setup and checks - Confirm the laptop is working correctly - Provide basic feedback/photos if needed If the first task goes well, there may be opportunities for ongoing paid support, such as software updates, basic troubleshooting, and occasional maintenance. Property - First-floor leasehold flat, Flat 27B, in a two-flat converted Victorian mid-terrace. - The main front entrance door is communal. - My existing mechanical doorbell chime is mounted on the first-floor communal hallway wall. - The existing doorbell is not currently working. - A previous electrician reportedly found that the old transformer had been disconnected and that the historic system may have been powered from the ground-floor flat, Flat 27A. - The new installation must be powered solely from my metered electricity supply in Flat 27B. Proposed equipment I intend to supply: - Reolink wired Video Doorbell WiFi D340W; - Reolink plug-in chime; - Reolink Home Hub Mini; and - high-endurance microSD card. The D340W requires either 24V DC or 12–24V AC power. It connects to my router over Wi-Fi. My elderly father has a PC and a Samsung Galaxy. Mostly, he requires regular (quarterly) viral scanning, desktop clean up, clearing of cookies, software updates, and a general reset. His email account has been hacked recently (we addressed that) and his Galaxy was completely taken over by Malware requiring a reset to factory settings and a rebuilding of the phone inclusive of re-uploading apps, etc. The job is simple but requires enormous patience with someone in their 90s, trustworthiness, and an understanding of what his needs are (mostly email, WhatsApp) inclusive of what it’s like to navigate digital technologies as an elderly person.
