I had 7 cables for Ethernet sockets ran to two rooms upstairs, and one room downstairs and terminated into wall sockets. All cables end up in our computer cupboard where they should ultimately connect to our router & optical internet hub. I thought I had an expert set it up but he installed the wrong "plastic ends" on the Cat5e cables and they won't plug into the router - I think they need trimming or possibly replacing. When it was installed the place was a building site, but now 90% done, and I need it all connected and checked to make sure that the 1GB optical bandwidth is available to all points in the house. I don’t have any Ethernet parts or specialist equipment on-site so please byo.

Need a Cat5e/6 ethernet cable terminated as RJ45 at both ends in my flat. The cable is already installed in the walls — just needs the faceplates swapped from phone (RJ11) to ethernet (RJ45) and properly terminated. The job: • One end is in my hallway cupboard (next to my Openreach ONT and router) • Other end is in a bedroom where the existing phone faceplate is already broken/removed • Both ends currently have phone-style sockets that need replacing with RJ45 ethernet faceplates • Cable needs punching down at both ends using T568B standard • Test with a cable tester to confirm it works before leaving Parts: Happy to supply the parts myself — just let me know exactly what you need and I’ll order them in before the job. Or include them in your quote if you’d prefer to bring your own. Either works. Tools you’ll need to bring: punchdown tool and cable tester. I have photos of both ends and the full setup that I can share to help you quote accurately.

New router with SIM card slot. Insert working SIM card. When trying to configure APN the password box becomes auto filled with (dots). protected password. This box should be left blank. i have tried removing this but each time the new APN profile is saved the dots reappear and the APN is blocked. I have tried a different device logging into the router settings page but the result is the same

Hi, we are trying to use our own router (TP-Link Archer) with our Plusnet full fibre connection, but can’t get it to work. We’ve spent hours on this and been on the phone with both Plusnet and TP-Link support but have not been successful so far. The Archer router is supposed to be easy to install … now we are looking for someone to come and get it up and running. We are in Weybridge.
