The air con and fan on my Ford Transit Custom isn't working, the fan almost never works for either air con or just the fan. I'm looking for someone to diagnose the problem and repair it.

Hi everyone, looking for some advice. I have a 2014 Ford Focus automatic sedan (2.0L) with about 140,000 km on it. For roughly the past 5 months, I’ve been getting the “Transmission Error – Service Now” message. The car generally still drives, but occasionally it struggles to find a gear, mostly at lower speeds/gears. When this happens: • It often re-engages once the revs drop, or • If I shift to neutral and back to drive, it finds the gear every time. I recently had it scanned, and I was told: • The input shaft bearing may be failing, and • The TCM may need replacing With brand new parts, I’ve been quoted around $5,000 AUD, which feels hard to justify. I’ve contacted a few wreckers/garages about secondhand parts, but I’m cautious about spending thousands without being confident in the diagnosis. My main question: Before committing to major repairs, what would you suggest checking or trying first that might be more cost-effective? For example: • Software updates / TCM reflash • Battery / electrical checks • Clutch / actuator testing • Anything commonly misdiagnosed on these Focus models Ideally, I’d like to keep costs sensible as I’m planning to sell the car soon (leaving Australia). Any experience or advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance 👍
