Step 1: Install the camera in the best position
Most cameras are designed to attach to your number plate, but your installer will determine the correct placement for your type of vehicle to ensure maximum visibility. For larger cars or commercial vehicles, they may need to attach the camera in a higher position to give you the visibility you need.
Step 2: Connect the power supply
Minor electrical work is completed to connect the camera to the power source, usually the wires powering your rear tail lights. Once the installation is completed, your camera will activate when you select reverse gear.
Step 3: Install the camera monitor for viewing
It’s important that your monitor is installed in a comfortable position for you to view images safely while reversing as well as ensure a clear view through the windscreen. I bought a CarPlay screen with a reverse camera from Amazon. The screen is just stuck on; however, the camera will need some wiring. This is from the manufacturer: "car charger provided with the product to connect to the car's cigarette lighter. Ensure that the reverse trigger wire (red wire) is connected to the main wire to form a circuit loop. Once this setup is complete, the rear camera will automatically display the view when you switch your car to reverse gear (R mode)"
