IKEA PAX wardrobe (Design code 343TFGB): The wardrobes will need to be levelled, then attached to each other, and secured to the wall. The existing holes to attach the wardrobes to the wall do not line up with the wall studs (this is an internal plasterboard wall) but the top of the wardrobe is very close to the ceiling so already unlikely to tip over; potentially this could just be done with hollow wall anchors. Please note that there is an 18mm thick skirting board so the wardrobe is not flush with the wall, let me know if you need me to purchase timber or anything that can be used to ensure the wardrobes are level with the wall. Or even better if you can bring some :) I’m also not opposed to removing the skirting board if that’s something that you are able to do. IKEA Besta media unit and bookshelves (Design code 343TDZQ): There are 5 60x20x38 cm units on the top row and 5 60x20x64 cm units on the second row that need to be mounted to the wall. I already purchased the suspension rails from IKEA. Some things to consider: 1) The holes meant for mounting the top row units to the wall will sit very close to the ceiling, basically within the electric safe zone. There might not be cables in there but if there are we might need to think of a different solution than the IKEA suspension rails. 2) The top rows need to be mounted to the ceiling because there are 3 units in the middle that don’t sit on anything (above the TV), but the 2 units on the sides will actually be on top of units that will sit on the floor, and these top units will still need to look like they are “sitting” on top of the bottom units. Basically we need to align the wall mounted units with the floor units. I purchased some adjustable METOD kitchen legs which should hopefully help us adjust the bottom units as necessary. 3) There is a 18mm thick skirting board (it’s 12cm tall so taller than most BESTA compatible legs), which can't be removed because an outlet sits behind 2 of the units. Thanks!
