What do rendering services include?
The exact inclusions of your rendering service will depend on what you need. If you’re not sure, your renderer can talk you through whether rendering is suitable for your surface, and whether cement or acrylic rendering is best for your project, along with what colour and textures will suit.
Here are some of the most popular rendering services and what you can expect from each:
Exterior wall rendering
Exterior wall rendering not only protects walls from the elements but can help lift the appearance of your home. Your renderer will start by chatting with you about the best render materials to use for your exterior, and any colours or finishes. They’ll prepare the walls and repair any structural defects. They may remove external features, like rainwater pipes, before they begin the rendering process. Next, they’ll measure and mix the render - usually in a concrete mixer or wheelbarrow. Your renderer will plaster the material on your walls using a trowel and add a decorative finish or texture if desired. They may finish off the job with a weather-proof layer of paint.
Interior wall rendering
Need interior walls rendered? The interior rendering process is normally referred to as plastering. It’s often used to coat walls and surfaces (like bricks) to make it smooth and flat for painting. Or to add interesting textures and effects. Your plasterer will mix dry materials with water and apply the plaster to your interior wall surfaces. You’ll need to allow around a week for your plastered walls to dry before painting.
Fence or retaining wall rendering
Your renderer can also render your fences or retaining walls to match the exterior render of your home for a uniform, modern look. Your renderer will likely recommend a smooth or medium texture so that water can’t get trapped in the pockets. They’ll prepare the surface, mix the render, and apply it using a trowel. They’ll use a range of tools to create your preferred texture and finish off with paint to help weather-proof your fence.
Kitchen and bathroom resurfacing
Resurfacing is popular in both kitchen renovation and bathroom renovation projects because it can give your home a fresh, new look without replacing any tiles or fixtures. Popular resurfacing locations include wall tiles, baths, basins, shower trays, vanity tops, and benchtops. Your resurfacing professional will start by confirming your preferences, like the colour and level of gloss you’d like. Then they’ll use sheets and masking tape to protect any areas in the room not being resurfaced. Next, they’ll remove any silicone and deep clean the surface for maximum adhesion. If needed, they’ll do minor repairs, such as removing chips and scratches and smoothing out the surface through sanding and etching. Finally, they’ll apply the primer and topcoat in line with your preferred colour and finish, reapplying silicon and removing the masking tape.

Quote Rendered Block wall and sliding electric gates - new front fence
$25
Paddington QLD 4064, Australia
29th Apr 2025
I just settled on a new house in Paddington. I am looking to make it more secure and also block some of the road noise. I am wanting a rendered block wall built with an electric sliding gate along the front + a pedestrian gate. Reaching out to a few companies to get some quotes happening. $25 is just a token figure for airtask, obviously will cost way more. * edit, I’m after a whole new front fence to be built, not just rendering, there is currently no fence present, hope that clears it up.

Rendering around window

Hi, given that Brisbane seems to have stopped, I thought it would be a great time to see if someone wants to do a relatively small rendering job in my kitchen. I need a the inside of a water damaged window repaired. The size of the window is 1470 high x 1200 wide. Plus finish off the 50mm above the window to the ceiling with a square set finish, and about 300 in along the wall to the right of the window…see photos attached. Ideally it would be great to get this done before the kitchen installation continues on Tuesday. Please provide a quote. Cheers!

Demolition - Rip out 30m2 stucco render walls
$650
Clayfield QLD, Australia
27th Dec 2024
I'm demolishing my house and needs assistance with removing approximately 30m2 of stucco rendered onto VJ timber using chicken wire. Area 1 - Approximately 6m2 of stucco render at a height ranging from 2.5m to 4m above floorboards. Area 2 - Approximately 16m2 of stucco render at height ranging from 1.2 to 3.5m above ground level Area 3 - Approximately 8m2 of stucco render at height ranging from 0m to 2m, working on a platform placed on a roof. For extra safety the beams at this location will be propped up by acrow props to ensure the roof can take the weight of a worker. I can provide an extension ladder and Zippy Scaff (pictured) and can also be on site to assist with anything. You are free to do the work how you like, but the most common method i've seen for this task is to use a diamond blade on a battery powered angle grinder (no power to site) to make cuts of approximately 1m2 into the stucco render, then rip it out section by section with a wrecking bar or crow bar (which I can provide). There is no need to dispose of the stucco after it is ripped off. Safety is a high priority at this site and I can provide certificates to confirm that asbestos has been removed and testing undertaken of unknown substances. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable standing on a ladder at heights of 3-4m.
