We have one timber window that has developed significant wood rot over the years, particularly around the lower corners and bottom section of the frame. It appears to have been patched/repaired previously, but we are now looking for a proper long-term repair rather than simply filling and painting over the damaged timber. The job would ideally include: Inspect the full window frame and determine the extent of the rot Remove/cut out rotten timber Replace damaged sections with suitable exterior-grade timber where required Treat any remaining timber against further rot Repair joints and make the frame structurally sound Seal/weatherproof the repaired areas to prevent water getting back in Prime and paint the repaired sections to match the existing frame as closely as possible Check and advise what is causing the moisture/rot so the problem does not return The glass appears to be fine and we would prefer to retain the existing window if it can be properly repaired. We have a 2700 wide x 2400 high stacker door that we would like installed. The job involves removal of current window and door and then replacement with new door. The current opening is approx 3100 wide, so framing up of a wall stud for this gap is also required. We will do the plastering and cladding of this wall. photos show existing door and windows and also new door. adjacent walls are brick veneer. happy for onsite inspection if required. also happy to offer labouring assistance for heavy lifting of door in and out of place.
