    What do handyman services include?

Handymen can tackle a wide range of indoor and outdoor home DIY tasks. Here’s some tasks you might ask a handyman near you to pop round and help with:

    General handyman services

Got a list as long as your arm of odd jobs that need completing? Hire general labour handymen to get several things done at once. They can help with pulling up carpet, hanging doors, fixing broken appliances, garden work, and more.

    Indoor installations and repairs

A local handyman can help install newly bought homewares or fix broken possessions (so you can hopefully save some $). For example, they can help with blind installation and repairs, fitting and repairing the kitchen sink, fitting pet doors, hanging shower screens, and even wallpapering. They’ll get it done using their own specialist tools and will let you know if you need to provide or pay for any additional materials.

    Outdoor installations and repairs

Your outdoor area and belongings have to deal with a lot. So help them withstand whatever nature (or your family) throws at them for longer by getting them professionally installed or repaired. Your handyman can help with garden shed installation, BBQ repair, fitting outdoor blinds, window repairs, fixing your mower, putting up your clothesline, and even repairing your kids’ trampoline.

     Bricklaying and building work

You can hire a handyman near you with bricklaying and building experience to help build garden walls, repair loose brickwork, install MDF, or even construct a chicken coop. When getting quotes from tradesmen, mention if you’ve got the building materials already, or if you’d like them to supply the materials as part of the job.

    Wall hanging

From pictures and TVs to bike racks and mirrors - if you need help with wall mounting, get a handyman to fit your furnishings securely and make sure they’re level. Most handmen will bring their own tools, but you may need to supply extra materials such as screws, picture wire, or mounts for heavier electrical items like TVs and driers.

    Furniture repair

When booking a handyman for furniture repair, you’ll need to be specific about the furniture that needs fixing. For example, handymen with carpentry experience may better if it’s your wooden coffee table, wardrobe, or sofa bed that need repairing. Meanwhile, a handyman with electrical experience may be right for any ceiling fan or digital fitness equipment fixes. That’ll ensure you get the best handyman near you for the job, plus the right tools to get it done.

Dig a hole to lower/level my trampline

    $300

    Howrah TAS, Australia

    29th Nov 2019

I’ve bought a trampoline for the kids for Christmas, and would like to dig a hole in my back yard to (at least partially) make it an in-ground trampoline. I’ve set up the frame to get the size/position right & marked out the area for the hole. I’d be keen to seek advice in terms of how deep to make the hole. The area is on a slope where the bottom corner is about 30-40cm lower than the opposite corner. Overall, the hole will be about 2.75m by 4.25m. The top of the trampoline is about 90cm off the ground, I think. With the excess dirt, I’m planning to leave some of it at least to build up the area between the trampoline and the house, so it’s somewhat level, but I’d expect I’d need most of the dirt taken away. Access to the back yard is down the side of the house over a stone area that is 170cm wide at its most narrow. Could you please let me know how much you would expect this to cost, and when you would likely be available to do this? Cheers! Nathan

Person - joinery skills - finish installtn kitchen

    $1,000

    Battery Point TAS, Australia

    26th Nov 2019

Battery Point, Tas: Because contractor is out of action for foreseeable future, someone is urgently needed to finish installation of a 99% built kitchen in a small apartment. Floor level cabinetry has been installed and fixed on base. Wall cabinetry still to be installed. Electrical appliances still to be installed (plumber & electrician raring to go). Bench a long story built and apart from installation of sink and waterproofing base will probably be left till after Xmas. Builder is trying hard to step in on various tasks to help with finalising renovation of apartment but needs someone to help with this to get done in time. If you don’t have carpentry/joinery quals but have heaps of experience on this sort of thing, that’s fine. Builder will direct and there are many hands to help with heavy lifting. IMPORTANT: Noisy work in this apartment can only be undertaken from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Inspect any time (with notice) to help with quote (or agree on hourly rate).

    Handyperson needed

    $50

    Lenah Valley TAS, Australia

    29th Sep 2019

Hey there, my name is Varun. I need to hire a handyperson to help me in Lenah Valley TAS, Australia. What do you need done? Repairs, Maintenance, Painting, Carpentry What is the type of property? House Which areas of the property need work? Need some tasks (general maintenance) done on the property from someone who has carpentry/(working with wood) experience and has good experience doing general maintenance on multiple tasks at home. Thanks What would you like the handyperson to work on? Folks, few tasks (some including general maintenance) to be done on the property. Tasks are: 1. Filling in white tiles in kitchen (the tiles have chipped at few places due to movement of furniture over them over past few years). 2. Fitting cabinet door closer back (I think its unscrewed and might be reused as well after putting the fillers in the cabinet). 3. Making kitchen window wood alive again (As pictures depict they had some water exposed and hence have chipped a bit, may need polishing and a bit of paint if required). 4. Screwing fire alarm back on cieling (has been unscrewed at one place). 5. Fitting/or rather gluing window holder switch back on window. 6. Putting some white paint on the wardrobe (where the paint has chipped). I can look and see if white paint is available at home. Note: I coudnt upload more than 8 pictures but happy to provide more details. Would be great if I can get an estimate for total cost of the work to be undertaken (Material Plus labour). Thanks

Dave accomplished the tasks at our property and went over and beyond the level we expected. He is skillful and it was a pleasure and absolute honor that we had him on our property. I would call Dave again without hesitation.
