What does a weed control service include?
The exact steps and processes involved in your weeding service will depend on the type of weeding you need to be done. Common weed control services include:
Lawn weed removal
Most lawns need weed control every couple of months to keep the weeds at bay. Common lawn weeds include nutgrass, bindi, clover, dandelion, and onion grass. Your regular lawn weeding service will include a quick inspection to identify the weeds, then your gardener will spray the appropriate weed kill to destroy them. But if your lawn is more weed than grass, it’ll probably need more drastic action. Your weed controller might recommend digging up and reseeding your lawn or another turf repair technique to ensure your grass won’t get overrun by weeds.
Garden weed removal
Weeds in your garden can choke out other plants and make your garden look unruly. Your weed control service will include identifying the weeds and then making a plan to remove them. If the weeds are large and easy to remove (or close to other plants), they may pull them out by hand, then dispose of them. But if the weeds are small, harder to remove, and not directly next to other plants, they’ll use the appropriate weed spray to kill them. Finally, your weed control service may also include prevention methods, like putting down layers of newspaper/cardboard covered with mulch to prevent weed seeds from germinating. It’s also a good idea to plant up your garden to fill any gaps and prevent weeds from sprouting up.
Garden tidy up
Many weed control service providers also offer general yard and garden tidying. As they’re removing weeds, they’ll likely find rubbish hiding in your garden, like broken pots, bricks, and cracked toys your kids left outside for too long. Plus, some plants might need a quick prune (especially if they’re covering paths or lawn areas), and you may need to remove palm fronds and large tree branches. So if you know your garden needs some extra work, ask your weed controllers to include a garden tidy up and they’ll remove the extra rubbish, along with the weeds.

Introduced plants and weeds are some of the greatest threats to the natural environment. Whether you live or work in an organisation in beautiful bush surroundings, along the coast, or near wetlands, it’s important to consider suitable weed control measures to restore, protect, and maintain these areas. Your weed control service provider will do an assessment of the area to determine what weeds need removing. Then they’ll help remove them without further damaging the area and provide advice on how you can revegetate with suitable native plants.
