Coolant Level Dropping – Need Mechanic for Diagnostic & Possible Repair (2013 Ford Focus) Hi there, I’m looking for a qualified mechanic to inspect my 2013 Ford Focus for a possible coolant issue. I recently checked the coolant reservoir for the first time since purchasing the car last year and found it was almost empty. I topped it up with approximately 1 litre of yellow coolant to bring it above the minimum mark. After driving for a few hours, I noticed the level had dropped again. I topped up again and noticed again after a few hours that it was still slowly dropping so suspect there could be a small leak. Just to note: • Temperature gauge has remained completely normal. • No warning lights. • No overheating. • No visible coloured coolant leaks. • Car has been driving normally. I would like: • A proper diagnostic / pressure test of the cooling system • Inspection for any leaks (hoses, radiator, water pump, expansion tank etc.) • Advice on whether repair is required • Quote for repair if needed Ideally looking for someone experienced with Ford vehicles. I have a 2008 Falcon EA-FG wagon with 300k on the clock that is not starting. Yesterday I went to start the car and it started making by metallic grinding/banging noise on my second or third time attempt and so stopped and called the RACV. The RACV guy says that it is either: a) The starter motor which can easily be replaced. b) The bendix or ring gear which is a bigger job. I need a mobile mechanic to come out and give me a second opinion. The task is to come and quickly pull out the starter motor and tell me what the actual issue is. If it's just the starter motor then there will be another task to replace it. If it's the bendix or ring gear then another task to fix this is you can.
