What does a car service include?
As a general rule, your car will likely need to be serviced every 6-12 months, depending on the manufacturer’s recommendations. The exact inclusions of your car service and mobile car service will vary depending on how much work is needed on your car. Oil and oil filter change
An oil and oil filter change will help your car run smoothly and increase fuel efficiency. It’s one of the most important parts of a service and should be included in both minor and major services. Your mechanic will find the oil drain plug, loosen and unscrew it, and carefully allow the old oil to drain into a pan. Then they’ll replace and tighten the plug before removing and replacing the filter. Finally, they’ll fill up with fresh oil up to the “full” mark on the dipstick.
Minor car service
A minor service is also known as an interim or basic service. It focuses on changing and topping up fluids and inspecting several components for wear and tear. A minor service includes an oil and filter change; an under-body and under-bonnet inspection; a top-up of all key fluids in the engine, including washer fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze, and steering fluid; and a check of up to 35 key components, such as lights, tyres, and brakes. Most mechanics will also check the manufacturer guidelines and recommend any additional work your car may need.
Major car service
A major service includes all the basic services described above, but will also include an inspection of an additional 15-30 car components to ensure that your vehicle is in the best condition possible. These components can include wheel bearings, shock absorbers, and the air conditioning system. Any parts that need extra work or replacement, such as car batteries or windscreens, will be billed as extra. If you don't have time to bring your vehicle to a mechanic, hire a mobile mechanic to come to your location instead for a major car service.

Its basically a straight swap of the device, the wires are all in the back and the reverse camera is also already installed, its basically ready for plug and play. I have a 2008 Falcon EA-FG wagon with 300k on the clock that is not starting. Yesterday I went to start the car and it started making by metallic grinding/banging noise on my second or third time attempt and so stopped and called the RACV. The RACV guy says that it is either: a) The starter motor which can easily be replaced. b) The bendix or ring gear which is a bigger job. I need a mobile mechanic to come out and give me a second opinion. The task is to come and quickly pull out the starter motor and tell me what the actual issue is. If it's just the starter motor then there will be another task to replace it. If it's the bendix or ring gear then another task to fix this is you can. This is a friends car so I will need something in writing like an email or Air Tasker message to conform what's wrong.
