For each location, record: • Foot traffic (counted, not estimated) • Direction of travel (pass-through vs browsing) • Approximate age group (broad bands) • Phone usage (phone in hand / looking at phone) • Dwell behaviour (do people stop, slow, or hesitate?) • Nearby factors (queues, seating, anchors) You’ll also: • Take clear photos of each location • Write brief notes on strengths/weaknesses • Rank locations within each centre from best to worst, with reasons ⸻ Time required • Minimum 2 time blocks per centre (e.g. weekday lunch + afternoon or weekend midday) • 20–30 minutes per location • Total time approx. 5–7 hours across all centres ⸻ Deliverables • Completed observation template (Word / Google Doc/ Google Sheets) • Photos labelled by centre and location • Short summary: “If this were your money, where would you place the machine and why?” ⸻ Ideal person • Detail-oriented and reliable • Comfortable observing in public spaces • Able to follow instructions closely Accuracy and consistency is more important than speed.
