My property is in Aireys Inlet It’s a double story timber home (built 1986) that has been renovated 6 years ago. There is a constant odour in the house that is more pronounced downstairs where the laundry is. It’s been here a long time despite having the house gutted and renovated. I don’t see any signs of mould, but not sure if it could be caused by lack of subfloor ventilation (although the house is on stumps and airflow is quite good). We had termites prior to renovation and they were treated, I don’t see signs of them having returned. The smell is a bit strange - not a sewer smell or empty P Trap smell. It’s more like a chemical/ plaster type of smell. I have had possums in the roof and seem to have eradicated them but I think there might be roof rats > just recently baited. I would like a thorough building inspection carried out as soon as possible please. Photos are of the subfloor.
