Planter Box Construction - Build an L-shaped raised planter box using 3 layers of timber planks on both sides — one side close to the fence, the other forming the front face. - Timber planks to be 50 mm thick sleeper wood, stacked to a total height of 600 mm. - Please refer the attached layout plan for more details. - Install steel posts at designated fence corners and ends. - Posts must be fixed in concrete footings for long-term structural stability. - Planter box width (depth from fence): 900 mm on both sides. - Use treated timber suitable for outdoor exposure and long-term durability. - Ensure level installation and secure anchoring to the ground. - No soil filling or planting required at this stage. - Do not dispose of any existing sleeper wood on site. - A 200 mm existing planter box is present along the fence side — this may be repurposed as part of the new box structure. - Existing plants in the fence-side planter box may be removed if they block timber stacking or post installation. I have a colorbond fence at the side of my house which I am wanting to transform into a gate. Preferably same material. Not sure on budget, wanting to get an idea for costs.
