Why hire a The Range wallpaper installer through Airtasker?

Finding the perfect wallpaper is one thing—getting it installed flawlessly is another. Whether you’ve chosen a bold statement print or a classic textured design, professional installation makes all the difference.

But let's admit it, hopping into your car and going to The Range to buy wallpaper, and install it by yourself might sound fun in theory, but it can quickly turn frustrating without the right expertise. Misaligned patterns, peeling corners, and stubborn air bubbles can all ruin the look of your newly decorated space.

However, when you book a wallpaper installation service through Airtasker, you’ll be matched with skilled installers who have the tools and expertise to install wallpapers with precision. No more struggling with peeling edges, mismatched patterns, or air bubbles! Taskers ensure a smooth, professional finish, whether you’re decorating a feature wall or revamping an entire room.

Top The Range Wallpaper Installation related questions

The time needed depends on the room size, wallpaper type, and wall condition. A small feature wall can take a few hours, while full-room installations with patterned or textured wallpapers—may take a full day.

Yes, but the surface must be smooth, clean, and free from peeling paint. If the wall has a glossy finish, it may need sanding or priming to help the wallpaper adhere properly.

Yes. Prepping your walls ensures a smooth application and long-lasting results. Professionals will fill holes, smooth rough spots, and clean surfaces before applying wallpaper for a flawless finish.

It’s not recommended. New wallpaper sticks best to a clean, smooth surface. Removing the old layer first will prevent peeling and bubbling issues later.

Most wallpapers can be removed using a steamer or stripping solution. Peel-and-stick options are easier to take down, while traditional wallpapers may require more effort.

It depends on your preference! Wallpaper offers more design choices, textures, and patterns, making it a great way to add character to a space. While wall painting, on the other hand, requires multiple coats and drying time, wallpaper provides an instant transformation with minimal mess.

Yes, but it’s important to choose moisture-resistant materials. Vinyl and washable wallpapers work best for humid areas. Wallpapers from The Range include a variety of styles to match any bathroom or kitchen décor.

Most wallpapers can be gently wiped with a damp cloth. For textured designs a soft brush attachment on a vacuum can help remove dust.

What can you expect from your The Range wallpaper installer?

Wallpaper installation is more than just sticking paper to a wall—it requires skill, precision, and the right techniques to ensure a flawless finish. Whether you’re installing wallpaper for a trendy feature wall or opting for a textured design like an Anaglypta wallpaper from The Range, hiring an Airtasker professional can save you time and effort. Here’s what to expect:

1. Surface Preparation

Before a single strip of wallpaper goes up, the walls need to be in perfect condition. A professional Tasker will start by inspecting the surface, looking for imperfections like cracks, holes, or peeling paint. Any damage is repaired with filler and sanded down to create a smooth, even base. Then, the walls are thoroughly cleaned to remove dust, grease, or residue from old wallpaper.

For extra durability, a primer or wallpaper sizing solution is applied. This step is particularly important for textured wallpapers like, ensuring that the design adheres properly without bubbling or lifting over time. Skipping preparation might save time, but it can lead to peeling edges and uneven results—something a professional won’t let happen.

2. Measuring and Cutting

With the walls ready, the next step is to measure and cut the wallpaper. This might sound easy, but it requires careful planning to avoid waste and ensure the design flows seamlessly across the room. A professional Tasker will measure the height and width of each wall, calculating exactly how much wallpaper is needed.

Each roll is then cut precisely, taking pattern repeats into account. If the wallpaper has an intricate design, every strip needs to be aligned correctly so the pattern flows smoothly from one panel to the next. For textured wallpapers, extra care is taken to match raised designs perfectly. Misaligned patterns or uneven seams can ruin the final look, which is why precise cutting is crucial.

3. Application and Hanging

Now comes the most important step—hanging the wallpaper. The method used will depend on the type of wallpaper chosen. Traditional paste-the-wall wallpapers require an even coat of adhesive before each panel is carefully placed. Pre-pasted wallpapers only need water activation, while peel-and-stick wallpapers can be repositioned easily.

A Tasker will carefully apply each strip from top to bottom, smoothing it out as they go. Special tools like wallpaper brushes and seam rollers help eliminate air bubbles and creases, ensuring a professional finish. Textured options require a gentle touch to avoid flattening the raised patterns while still securing them firmly to the wall.

For tricky areas—like around corners, light switches, and sockets—Taskers use precision trimming techniques to ensure seamless edges. A well-installed wallpaper looks like it was meant to be there, blending flawlessly into the room without visible joins or awkward gaps.

4. Finishing Touches

Once all the wallpaper is up, the final details make all the difference. Taskers will go over the edges to press them firmly into place, ensuring they won’t lift or peel over time. Any excess adhesive is wiped away to prevent staining, and the entire surface is checked for imperfections.

5. Cleanup and Aftercare Advice

A good Tasker doesn’t just finish the job and leave—cleanup is part of the process. Any leftover wallpaper scraps and packaging materials are disposed of properly, leaving your space looking fresh and tidy.

To help maintain the wallpaper, Taskers provide care tips tailored to the specific type you’ve chosen. They might suggest using a damp cloth for easy-clean wallpapers or provide recommendations for repainting in the future. With professional installation, your wallpaper won’t just look great on day one—it’ll stay that way for a long time.

Hallway Renovation: Wallpapering + Tiling

£2,000

Hoxton, Greater London

5th Mar 2026

Hi, We are looking to have some works done on our apartment hallway. Job Details: 1. Top section wallpaper 2. Bottom section (1.06m) tiled 3. Remove existing skirting board 4. Change 4x door handles 5. Change 3x Handle pulls (new ones are slightly larger than old ones, so some wood on the door needs to be removed) 6. Change existing fused switch with new (tiled section) 7. Change existing double socket with Double Plug Socket. Please note, these are circular, and the tiles would need to be cut around them. (Item linked in Google Sheets below) 8. As pictured, there is an intercom box, and a central heating unit. The bottom of the intercom box (the lowest of the two) is 106cm high from the floor, so should not need removing, but adjustment may be necessary. Depending on price, we may also request the entire ceiling be repainted white (c. 12m x 12m), with cracks and any minor pin holes being patched. In this email i have attached some pictures of the hallway, the dimensions of the hallway, and the spacing indication for the tiling.  With regards to inventory, please see this Google Doc: [ASK FOR LINK] Everything in green has already been ordered, and the remaining items are awaiting confirmation as for whether they are acceptable to order, and the quantities are correct.  We are looking to have this started ASAP, but we are flexible on timing.  Parking will be available in the building basement for the duration of the works.  If you could kindly quote up the task, and indicate of prospective start time and job duration, that would be highly appreciated.

Steve accepted to do a task of painting and wallpapering a bedroom for an agreed amount, He done a very bad job in completing the task and said this is the type of work I am paying for. Although we agreed that he will do a very good job as asked and that if it would take longer we would adjust the pay to complete the job nicely. He rushed the job to complete within a day and said that if we want it to look better that we should pay for more time.
