What does a soil removal service include?
Looking for soil removalists near you is easy when you do it via Airtasker. We’ll connect you with a nearby soil removal service that can handle your task quickly and conveniently. That means you’ll have more time to focus on the other things on your to-do list, especially if this task is part of a gardening or construction project.
If you’re handling excess soil for the first time, here’s what you can expect from your removalist:
Soil pick-up
When you book a Tasker to do soil removal, they’ll come to your location with the necessary equipment. Tools can include bags, shovels, a truck, etc. Just point to the pile of soil or the area, and the removalist will do the rest. If it’s a rather large area, there may be more than one Tasker who will handle the job.
Whether it’s garden soil for a landscaping project or topsoil removal for a construction site, Airtasker can help you find a removalist who can take care of it. Here’s a tip: make your task post as specific as possible so that prospective Taskers can give you a more accurate quote. This also helps them prepare in terms of equipment and human resources.
Soil removal
Once the soil has been cleared and loaded into the truck/vehicle, the removalist brings it to your chosen removal site. This can be a landfill, recycling facility, or a construction company. If you decided to give your excess soil to a friend who needs it for gardening, they could bring it there, too. Just mention this location in your task post.
If you still haven’t chosen a “recipient” for your soil, the Tasker may be able to give you options. Since they handle other soil removal tasks in your town, they are most likely familiar with the places that could make use of your soil. Though this may vary from Tasker to Tasker, some may even know the local protocols for dumping dirt with rocks or handling soil that may be contaminated.
Soil removal isn’t the only thing you can ask a Tasker to do. Airtasker can also connect you with people who can help you get rid of other rubbish, such as scrap metal or rubble. We also have removalists for other items like appliances. Taskers can help make your next cleaning or renovating project a bit more convenient.

Multiple bags of soil removed
£100
Brondesbury, Greater London
11th May 2025
We have dug up a garden bed and need someone to remove and dispose of the garden waster, mostly soil. The soil is already packed and ready to be collected and removed from our garden. They are in small but heavy duty strong bags. They are quite heavy. They are closed tightly with cable ties. I'm a woman and can only just about carry 1 only at a time. There will be about 50 or so bags. Obviously you will need a van and the knowhow of where to dispose of the soil properly.
Remove subsoil and concrete from garden
£850
North Southwark, Greater London
6th May 2025
There is about 9 cubic meters of sub soil and some concrete from the removal of a patio. Access is limited due to a railing around the garden and the road behind the garden is about 2.6m at its tightest (between parked cars and trees). Going through the flat means navigating some tight corners. Ideally a small grab van would be good to reach the soil from the road behind.
