Supply and fit a smoke alarm in the hallway on the 2nd floor - battery operated. Re-seal around a bath where there are little gaps in the sealant.

These 3 smoke alarms have been detached from their position. I want that re-fitted and want to make sure that they are working. Also, there is a small leak in the kitchen sink tap. Needs to be investigated and fixed.

Don't have the nec ladder to reach the beeping smoke alarm. You'd need a ladder, not a step ladder. Not sure what battery it needs but can research that.

Replace existing ac mains smoke alarm

We don't have a ladder however the batteries in our smoke alarm need fixing and we cannot reach it. Our landlord has asked us to look for a handyman. Please bring own ladder. Ceiling is about 9 or 10 feet from floor.

I need 4 mains-wired, interlinked optical smoke alarms replaced on a like-for-like basis. All 4 were installed on the same day, approximately 10years ago. 2 of the 4 are now beeping (3 beeps every 4 hours), which I understand indicates end-of-life on these units. The other 2 haven’t started beeping yet but are the same age, so I’d like all 4 replaced together in one visit. What’s needed: • Safely isolate power, remove the 4 existing units, and dispose of them properly • Supply and install 4 new mains-powered, interlinked optical smoke alarms in the same locations • Test all units individually and confirm the interlink function works across all 4 • Must be a qualified/registered electrician (e.g. NICEIC or equivalent) as this is mains electrical work

I have a 2 bed apartment across 2 floors. The smoke alarms need changing

Emptying the bath last night tripped the electrics. The mains-powered smoke alarm would not switch off. There is not a separate fuse for the smoke alarm. We need to isolate the smoke alarm to prevent electric fire. Will also need a plumber to check for leaks.

remove 3 x hardwired smoke alarms and replace with X-Sense battery operated. Also repair light fixing with exposed wire.

My old smoke detector was too old and I bought a replacement but am nervous switching the electrics. I suspect it’s a straightforward job switching the casing and wiring the new one in.
