We’re looking for someone experienced in renovating older exterior timber, not simply repainting over existing surfaces. Work required: • Remove all ivy/vegetation from around doors, windows, frames and roofline. • Scrape off all loose, peeling and failed paint back to a firm edge. • Sand/feather existing paint thoroughly. • Fill minor cracks, holes and surface defects. • Check timber condition as work progresses. • Prime all bare/exposed timber with suitable exterior wood primer. • Apply undercoat where required. • Apply TWO full finish coats of good-quality exterior paint. • Paint windows, double doors, door frames, fascia and soffit externally. • Also prepare/repaint inside faces of windows, doors and door frames. • Colour likely black; final paint system to be agreed. • Protect glass, brickwork, paving and surrounding areas. Preparation and durability are more important than speed. We do not want loose/flaking paint lightly sanded and painted over. If rotten timber, failed putty, loose glazing beads or other significant defects are found, please photograph and agree any additional work/cost before proceeding. All ivy, paint scrapings and job waste must go into the skip provided on site. Please keep the work area tidy throughout, leave paths/access clear, safely store tools/materials, and clean up paint splashes/debris promptly. Area to be left clean and tidy on completion. Please arrive at agreed times or advise if delayed. Normal hours approx. 8:30/9am–5pm unless agreed otherwise. Ideally complete over consecutive working days. When applying, please include: • Relevant exterior timber experience • Photos of similar work • Proposed preparation/paint system • Approx. number of days + earliest start • Whether labour only or labour + materials • Confirmation quote includes all preparation above + two full finish coats Guide budget £650. Happy to consider sensible higher quotes from experienced decorators.

Exterior Wall Touch-up & Prep Size: Lower sections of the exterior wall around the back door and window area. Tasks: Scrape away loose, flaking paint flakes and clean off surface dust. Apply a quick exterior paint touch-up to cover bare patches, marks, and stains to make the wall look neat for an event this weekend. Tools Needed: Paint scraper/putty knife. Wire brush or stiff brush for cleaning. Paintbrushes and rollers. Dust sheets/drop cloth to protect the ground. I can provide matching exterior paint, but please bring standard prep tools. The work area is at ground level with clear access. Aiming for a quick visual tidy-up rather than a full repaint.
