Looking for an experienced bathroom installer or glass specialist to help source and install a narrow shower screen. The screen will be approx. 25–30 cm wide and run floor to ceiling. One side fixes to a wall that has a tile-to-wall transition partway up (approx. 1.5 cm step), so this is not a completely flat surface. We need someone who can advise on the best solution, help us choose and order the correct materials, and then complete a clean, professional installation. Important: please explain how you would handle the tile step (for example U-channel, trim solution, or custom-cut glass). We want a clean, intentional finish, not something that looks patched or filled. This task is for labour only. We will pay separately for materials, but would like you to recommend what to purchase and either provide a receipt or invoice for reimbursement. Requirements: proven experience installing shower screens or bathroom glass, confidence working with uneven surfaces, and ability to deliver a high-quality finish. Looking for someone reliable who can fully complete the job (including advice and installation), not partial work. Please clarify if you have done similar work before.

I need a skilled carpenter to repair a damaged timber door frame and hang a new solid oak fire door. The door is heavy (42kg), so I am looking for someone with the appropriate tools and experience. Scope of Work: 1. Remove and dispose of old door 2. Structural Frame Repair: The current timber jamb is badly splintered at the strike points as a result of a locksmith needing to use force to break in (see photos). Needs a professional repair so the frame is structurally sound again. 3. Door Hanging: Hang a new Victorian 4-Panel Oak FD30 Fire Door (2032mm x 813mm x 44mm). Trim as needed - the floor is uneven and will need some trimming particularly on the height of the door either side. The door has 20mm solid oak lippings to accommodate this. 4. Hardware Installation: - Install 3x Grade 13 hinges - Consolidate Locks: Remove three existing locks from the old setup. Re-install only ONE insurance-approved ERA BS3621 5-Lever Sashlock and its matching strike plate (pictured) into the repaired frame. - Install new lever handles (57mm centers). 5. Finishing: Ensure the 44mm door sits flush in the 46mm frame rebate. Patch/fill the old lock holes in the frame so it is ready for sanding/painting. Materials Provided: - Solid Oak Fire Door (42kg) - 2032mm x 813mm x 44mm - 3x Grade 13 Ball Bearing Hinges - Heritage Brass Lever Handles. - Existing ERA BS3621 Sashlock & Strike Plate (pictured) Tasker Requirements: - Must provide own professional tools - Must provide timber, professional wood glue etc for the frame repair. - Experience with heavy solid-core doors Photos: Please see attached for the current frame damage and the hardware being reused.

We have a Yale safe. We think its 200 DB1 or similar - no documentation. The batteries have run flat and there is no 9v point to activate the lock. The safe is bolted / glued to the wall so prising it off will damage the wall as we are aware that bouncing the safe in the floor can activate the opening. We rent our property and our landlady does not have the override key so it may be she needs a locksmith to open the safe. There is no rush on the job as the safe contains documents which are not urgently needed. We seek a quote for this non-urgent task so we can pass the quote to the landlady as she owns the safe as she owns the flat we rent. If the quote is too high, the suggestion may be to take the safe from the wall (we think it is glued on) and then fixing any wall damage as the landlady herself informed she got into the safe by dropping it on the floor a few times! So its really an idea of what a locksmith would be really. Would appreciate some quotes emailed to me. Thanks.
