Looking for an experienced handyman for a few small repairs in a Melbourne CBD apartment. Tasks: • Balcony Sliding Door: Inspect and adjust rollers/track so the door glides smoothly. • Bedroom Door: Adjust hinges/alignment to fix sticking or slight tilting. • Laundry Shelf: Reinstall existing shelf board. The frame is already there — only a ~5 cm timber support piece needs to be supplied and added underneath to raise the shelf slightly. • Bathroom Silicone: In one bathroom only, remove damaged/mouldy silicone or missing silicone in a few small sections (approx. 4 areas) and reseal those areas. Full reseal not required — just cut out the bad sections and apply fresh silicone. Important: • Please supply mould-resistant bathroom silicone (white or clear). • Please bring a small timber piece (~5 cm height) and any screws/hardware needed to support the laundry shelf. All other shelf parts are already there. • Please bring all tools required for door adjustment and silicone work. • Your offer must include tools and nearby CBD parking costs. Budget: $300 labour. This is not a full renovation — mainly resurfacing and installation of new fittings. I will supply all tapware, rail shower head, shelf and drain grate. Task Title Re-secure external Colorbond panel to rendered lightweight wall (roof access) Looking for someone experienced with lightweight cladding and exterior waterproofing, not a temporary plug-and-silicone fix. Please quote including labour and fixings. Task Description I have a vertical Colorbond panel installed on the outside wall of my 2-storey townhouse in Brunswick West. The panel was originally installed by a roof plumber to address minor water ingress. The panel itself is fine, however several of the top fixings (approx. 1–4 screws) have become loose and no longer bite into the wall (they spin freely). Wall construction (important) • House built in 2010 • Wall is lightweight cladding (render over foam/cement sheet) — NOT brick • No stud directly behind the current failed screw locations • Existing screws appear to be biting only into render/foam Work required • Assess wall cavity / structure • Re-secure the panel using an appropriate fixing method (e.g. structural fixing or exterior-rated cavity anchor) • Do not reuse failed holes without proper remediation • Seal old holes and seal over new screw heads Sealing requirement Fixings must be weatherproof and sealed with exterior polyurethane sealant (e.g. Sikaflex 11FC or equivalent) to prevent water tracking behind the panel. Size / height • Panel approx 1.6m high • Located approx 2.4m above Colorbond roof level • Building height approx 5.5–6m from ground Access Access via ladder placed on a Colorbond metal roof (low–moderate pitch). Please bring appropriate ladder, roof safety equipment and PPE.
