My floors are currently up and some new joists have been installed. We have some problems: - One spot in particular is a bit bouncy. - The top of the joists are slightly too high (around 5mm) for the adjoining solid floor once boards go back on top, and I'd like it to be flush. - There is a bit of a horizontal gap between the joist and the solid floor. I'm looking for a strong carpenter who loves obsessing over the small details, who can come and try to make this as perfect as possible. You'll probably need to do the following: - Take a look at the new joists sat on their brick plinths and figure out what isn't totally stable and how you're going to adjust heights accordingly. It might actually be easy, or it might be a bit of a puzzle. - Ensure the top of the joists will be flush with the adjoining solid floor once 18mm boards go back on top. You should have a tool for planing a small amount of the top of the joist off in case we deem that to be worthwhile. - For the horizontal gap, I think we should some thin battens parallel to it along the joist so that when we put on the the boards (we will go with 18mm OSB), they can go very close to the solid floor edge ad still be fully secured without overhanging. We are ultimately getting Amtico LVT installed and it will bridge between the suspended and solid floors. Note some wool insulation has been placed between the joists so we'll need to pull that out as needed. Bonus: if I'm happy with the job, there's a follow-up job to install 18mm OSB Tongue and Groove boards across the ground floor that we could do next week and I could give a good rate for that.

There is peel-and-stick vinyl flooring in my kitchen. I want that fully removed and the stick to be cleaned off afterwards so the flooring is not sticky. I have taken 2 pictures. The black flooring is the peel-and-stick vinyl flooring. The grey flooring under it is the original flooring.
