What do underfloor heating installation services include?

Apart from roof and ceiling insulation, underfloor heating is another way of reducing your energy consumption and electricity bills. For a quicker installation, it's best to get someone who knows their way to almost any make and model from various underfloor heating companies. From assembly and installation, plumbing and electrical works, as well as final inspections, they can help!

Keep in mind that underfloor heating experts can only provide minor screeding. Consider hiring a flooring expert for a smoother and more secure flooring surface after the installation. If you are new to underfloor heating, here are some of the things you can expect:

Electric underfloor heating installation

Electric underfloor heating comes with an interconnected coil or electrical wires embedded into heating mats. You can install them pretty much anywhere as long as they are connected to a power source. Significantly thin and more accessible, electric underfloor heating is ideal when retrofitting existing rooms. The exact installation process depends on the recommendations of the manufacturer, but the service usually includes:

  • Disassembly or lifting of existing floors (if needed)
  • Cutting of mesh if they appear too loose for the existing subfloor
  • Rolling out of heating mats
  • Fixing them on the surface using double-sided tapes or glues (usually attached on your mesh)
  • Installing of temperature sensors and connecting them to a thermostat
  • Connecting your underfloor heating to the main electrical source

Wet underfloor heating installation

Wet heating systems feature a series of pipes that are commonly connected to a central boiler, although some models can work with solar panels or heat pumps. Once you've set the temperature on your thermostat, the boiler will start heating a certain amount of water and pump them throughout the pipes. The heat energy from the pipeworks will emanate across the room, from the underfloor up to the ceiling. Installing your wet underfloor heating might take longer than electric underfloor heating since it requires a bit of plumbing work. While Taskers are more familiar with fitting them for new commercial or residential builds, there are also plenty of plumbers who can install them in existing rooms. The installation process involves:

  • Layout designing (if needed)
  • Securing the manifold in place
  • Fixing pipeworks in place
  • Connecting your heating pipes to the manifold
  • Screeding over the new underfloor heating systems
  • Checking of flow rates

After the installation, it can be quite frustrating to deal with all the residual dirt and dust floating around the house. If you don't have the time to fix up, why not book a Tasker for a quick after builders cleaning service? With the right skills and set of cleaning equipment, you won't have to worry at all about the mess!

Install Fastwarm underfloor heating

I have purchased a Fastwarm electric underwood heating kit (8 sq m) (https://www.fastwarm.com/fastwarm-electric-underwood-heating-mat-kit-10417-p.asp?v=0&variantid=14729) and insulation underlay (https://www.fastwarm.com/fastwarm-6mm-eps-insulation-pack-covers-10m2-20-boards-11151-p.asp) The heating mat needs to be hardwired to a fuse spur with a wall mounted digital thermostat. I am looking for an electrician with experience of installing this product. This is for the kids’ playroom in my house. I then plan on getting a separate person to fit laminate wooden flooring on top. There is currently a carpeted floor but i will remove the carpet in advance. Repair bathroom radiators & install heating elements

£400

Pentonville, Greater London

11th Jan 2026

I had two new radiators installed in my bathroom last year, but they do not heat up. They are connected to the central underfloor heating system, but the water remains cold. A plumber attempted to identify the issue but couldn't, which suggests it's a structural installation fault in the pipes behind the wall rather than a quick fix. I am looking for someone to: 1) Inspect the pipes behind the wall to diagnose the connection fault and fix the issue so the radiators work with the underfloor heating. 2) Install electric heating elements (dual fuel) in the radiators as a backup. The existing radiators support dual fuel. I know from the previous radiators that there is existing wiring/power outlets behind the radiators, so no new cabling from the fuse box is required. These are the radiators that I have: https://www.traderadiators.com/catalog/product/view/id/367584/

Improve flat heating and warmth

£100

Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire

7th Jan 2026

My flat is extremely cold and loses heat very quickly. I currently use four electric heaters (1500W each) in the bedroom, studio, living room, and kitchen. Even when they are on, the flat does not stay warm for long, and when switched off the temperature drops very rapidly. I cannot keep the heaters running constantly due to high electricity costs. I believe the issue is likely related to heat loss rather than heating power, possibly due to draughts, poor window or door sealing, or inadequate insulation. I am looking for someone experienced in: Identifying heat loss and cold spots Checking windows and doors for draughts or poor sealing Improving insulation and draught proofing Advising on cost-effective ways to retain heat and reduce energy bills The goal is to make the flat warmer and more energy efficient without relying on heaters running all the time.

Replace heating elements on a boiler

£200

Elephant And Castle, Greater London, SE1

27th Nov 2025

This boiler is not working as it should and I was recommended to replace the heating elements. So looking for someone to do this... It's not heating water well or fast enough, it costs me insane amount of money (like summertime around £100 goes to just have hot water in the morning for one shower session). Now it provides barely warm water after 3 hours of heating water. I don't know price for this work so please do let me know how much materials and labour will cost!

Highly recommend Egzon! He went above and beyond to fix our boiler, even cleaned the lime scale (which wasn't part of the deal), he did everything super quickly, came on time, and overall he's very nice person! Will definitely recommend him to our friends and will call him if anything.
