my hot water isn't working. An expert looked at it and said the immersion heater and thermostat needed replacing. I would like someone with experience to do this for me please

I have a nest thermostat and Worcester combi boiler , I want to replace the current thermostat with the Nest smart thermostat. Note boiler is in the loft, ladder access and light is available

replace existing thermostat with a replacement. there are six wires and they will transfer to the new one. 2 mains,2 heat sensor, 2 heating mat. the thermostat is mounted in a bathroom unit, so when its removed the wires need to be taped down so that they do not fall back.
