I have purchased a Fastwarm electric underwood heating kit (8 sq m) (https://www.fastwarm.com/fastwarm-electric-underwood-heating-mat-kit-10417-p.asp?v=0&variantid=14729) and insulation underlay (https://www.fastwarm.com/fastwarm-6mm-eps-insulation-pack-covers-10m2-20-boards-11151-p.asp) The heating mat needs to be hardwired to a fuse spur with a wall mounted digital thermostat. I then plan on getting a separate person to fit laminate wooden flooring on top. There is currently a carpeted floor but i will remove the carpet in advance. There is a concrete subfloor, where the underlay will sit on top.

10th Dec 2025

My underfloor never kicks in at the start of winter. Can someone please assess, it’s getting cold in here… I have x6 thermostats in the flat. They all register the correct time/date/function. If I set the temperature for the heating to turn on, the flame icon appears (so it works) but the heating doesn’t turn on.
